The History of Skinny Jeans for Men

The guys skinny jeans started gaining importance after the 1950's. It was adopted by the trendiest men of rock n roll among which are Mick Jagger. It gained popularity due to country music stars opting for it. Elvis Presley shocked the country by wearing the slim-fitting jeans. In the 1960's, rock bands such as The Beatles and also The Rolling Stones wore them.

Skinny jeans gained prominence in the 1970's fashion scene. Male musical icons of the countries of the USA and Europe wore these skinny tight jeans in the late 70's with the rise of punk. The jeans became the symbol of punk heroes and bands such as The Ramones and The Clash, The Sex Pistols and The Stooges.

In the 1980's, the skinny acid-washed jeans became popular with heavy metal bands, such as Anthrax, Metallica and Slayer. They did not wear spandex. By late 1980's and also early 1990's, metal bands such as Poison, Bon Jovi and Slaughter abandoned the spandex and adopted the form fitted jeans. It was also worn by pop stars such as Michael Jackson. In early 1990's, the skinny tight jeans went out of fashion and was replaced by baggy carpenter jeans.

In 2000s, the jeans were preferred by the indie revival bands such as The Strokes. In 2005, this were a part of line of fashion designers such as Karl Lager field and also Stella McCartney. Many male style icons such as Noel Fielding and Pete Doherty have adopted the skinny jeans. This has made the guys skinny jeans prominent in the modern fashion industry.
